Some questions are difficult because of the mathematics. Others are difficult because you’re not sure what the question is asking. We work on both, helping you turn a real-world situation into a method you can use.

Bring a topic that isn’t clicking, a recent test or a question you couldn’t finish. Your tutor helps you identify the missing step and practise it until you can move forward more independently.

PROGRESS YOU CAN BUILD ON

The Benefits of
IB Math AI Tutoring

IB Math AI tutoring connects the calculation to the context. You might explore why a model fits a set of data, what a probability tells you or whether a calculator result is reasonable. The aim is to understand your choices, as well as carry them out.

Lessons combine clear explanations with practice on your own. As your understanding grows, we introduce unfamiliar questions and work on presenting a complete answer under exam conditions.

EXCEPTIONAL TUTORS. RIGOROUS STANDARDS.What it takes to teach at AcadyDiscover how we select, screen and support our IB teachers and graduate tutors.

Outstanding qualifications are only the starting point. We select exceptional IB teachers and IB graduate tutors through a rigorous screening process, looking for the expertise, teaching ability and dedication that make a lasting difference to students.

Four qualities. Every Acady tutor.

Deep subject mastery

A thorough understanding of the subject, with the ability to explain both the fundamentals and the most demanding concepts clearly.

IB mastery

Detailed knowledge of the IB curriculum, assessment criteria and exam expectations, so every lesson supports what the student needs to achieve.

Teaching that connects

The ability to turn knowledge into understanding and build rapport with different students, adapting to their learning preferences, obstacles and challenges.

Commitment & consistency

Effective tutoring grows through a structured, consistent relationship. We work with tutors who prioritise their students and commit to supporting them for the long term.

There are many tutors online. Only a small selection meet all four standards. Our selection process brings these qualities together to give you or your child the strongest possible foundation for academic progress.

How we safeguard teaching quality

  1. Recruit against strict requirements

We select IB teachers and graduate tutors whose academic background, IB expertise and commitment meet our demanding entry requirements.

  2. Get to know the person

Through multiple interviews, we explore their motivation, communication style and approach to supporting students over time.

  3. Put teaching skills into practice

Subject-specific case studies test how they explain ideas, respond to difficulties and guide a student towards understanding.

  4. Verify their background

We rigorously check qualifications and relevant experience, making sure the credentials behind an impressive profile stand up to scrutiny.

  5. Monitor quality and consistency

We follow our tutors’ performance, reliability and teaching quality, with the impact on students’ progress as our central measure.

  6. Stay involved with families

We stay in close contact with IB families and their tutors, helping align expectations, address concerns and keep the right support in place for each student to do their best.

EXPERTISE. CARE. REAL PROGRESS.

Why choose Acady
for IB Math AI?

At Acady, your tutor match and lesson priorities start with your needs. Work with an IB Math AI tutor on turning mathematical results into sound interpretations, with focused feedback and opportunities to put the learning into practice.

02

Target the step you find difficult

Bring a modelling, statistics or calculus question and show your attempt. Your tutor checks whether the obstacle is the concept, calculator setup, choice of method or interpretation of the result.

03

Use technology with understanding

Work through graphing-calculator methods alongside the mathematics. Explain why a regression model, probability calculation or numerical result is appropriate and recognise when its assumptions limit the answer.

04

Practise the reasoning that earns a complete answer

Receive feedback on notation, context, assumptions and conclusions. Then tackle a related problem independently so that you can choose a method and explain what the result means.

05

Explore models and data together online

Share graphs, datasets and calculator working with your tutor. Compare predictions, investigate an unexpected output and discuss what would make a mathematical conclusion more reliable.

06

Experience the match in a trial lesson

Start with a free consultation, then a 60-minute trial lesson to experience the support. If the match feels right, continue straight away. If a different approach would suit you better, our team helps you find another tutor.

YOUR SUBJECT. YOUR LEVEL.

Math AI SL or HL?

Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation explores mathematics in context, with an emphasis on modelling and technology. Both SL and HL develop reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Support for your next step.

Your level changes the depth and range of the work. Tell us your course and exam year so we can match the support to what you are actually studying.

SL

STANDARD LEVEL

Build understanding you can apply.

Math AI SL tutoring helps you connect core ideas, select a useful method and communicate what your answer means. Build fluency with the mathematics and the technology together.

HL

HIGHER LEVEL

Take your reasoning further.

Math AI HL tutoring gives you space to work through more demanding problems and connect several ideas. Practise choosing an approach, interpreting results and explaining your decisions clearly.

Topics we can work through together

Number, algebra & functions

Revisit the algebra behind your calculations and explore how functions describe change. Work on building a model, reading its graph and recognising its limitations.

Geometry & trigonometry

Translate the situation into a diagram, identify the quantities you need and choose an appropriate relationship. Check units and explain what the result means.

Statistics & probability

Make sense of data, distributions and statistical reasoning. Practise choosing an approach, interpreting calculator output and drawing conclusions that the evidence supports.

Calculus in context

Connect rates of change and accumulation to a graph or practical situation. Focus on understanding what you are calculating and why it answers the question.

What can an IB Math AI tutor help with?

Your tutor can help you understand difficult topics, use your calculator more confidently and prepare for assessments. Lessons focus on your SL or HL course and the areas where support will be most useful.

Do you offer Math AI SL and HL tutoring?

Yes. Tell us which level you study, your exam year and what you would like to work on. We use that information to find a tutor whose subject knowledge and teaching approach fit your needs.

Can you help with my Math AI internal assessment?

We can help you understand mathematical methods, discuss how to approach an investigation and develop the skills to evaluate your results. Your exploration, calculations and written work remain your own, in line with your school’s guidance.

Will tutoring help me use my graphing calculator?

Calculator skills can be part of your lessons. Tell us which model you use so we can take it into account when matching you with a tutor. You will practise both the steps on the calculator and the interpretation of the result.

Is Math AI the same as Math AA?

They are different IB mathematics pathways. Math AI places particular emphasis on applications, modelling and interpretation. If you are studying Analysis and Approaches, visit our IB Math AA tutoring page for support with that course.

How does online Math AI tutoring work?

You meet your tutor online and work through questions using a shared whiteboard. Bring your classwork, calculator and the topics you want to understand better. Lessons can combine explanation, guided practice and independent questions.

How does the trial lesson work?

Start with a free consultation to discuss your needs and a suitable tutor match. A 60-minute trial gives you a chance to experience the lessons before continuing. We explain trial options and costs before you book.
