FAMILIAR SCHOOLS. INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS.

Supporting students from
The Hague’s international school community.

Acady has supported students from the International School of The Hague and the British School in the Netherlands, as well as the American School of The Hague in nearby Wassenaar.

An ISH MYP student and a BSN or ASH Diploma student need different kinds of support. Your tutor uses your IB subjects, level and teacher feedback to focus on the explanations, methods and study habits that will help you progress.

We have strong working relationships with many IB schools. The schools listed here reflect the students we have supported; inclusion does not necessarily indicate a formal partnership or endorsement.

EXCEPTIONAL TUTORS. RIGOROUS STANDARDS.What it takes to teach at AcadyDiscover how we select, screen and support our IB teachers and graduate tutors.

Outstanding qualifications are only the starting point. We select exceptional IB teachers and IB graduate tutors through a rigorous screening process, looking for the expertise, teaching ability and dedication that make a lasting difference to students.

Four qualities. Every Acady tutor.

Deep subject mastery

A thorough understanding of the subject, with the ability to explain both the fundamentals and the most demanding concepts clearly.

IB mastery

Detailed knowledge of the IB curriculum, assessment criteria and exam expectations, so every lesson supports what the student needs to achieve.

Teaching that connects

The ability to turn knowledge into understanding and build rapport with different students, adapting to their learning preferences, obstacles and challenges.

Commitment & consistency

Effective tutoring grows through a structured, consistent relationship. We work with tutors who prioritise their students and commit to supporting them for the long term.

There are many tutors online. Only a small selection meet all four standards. Our selection process brings these qualities together to give you or your child the strongest possible foundation for academic progress.

How we safeguard teaching quality

  1. Recruit against strict requirements

We select IB teachers and graduate tutors whose academic background, IB expertise and commitment meet our demanding entry requirements.

  2. Get to know the person

Through multiple interviews, we explore their motivation, communication style and approach to supporting students over time.

  3. Put teaching skills into practice

Subject-specific case studies test how they explain ideas, respond to difficulties and guide a student towards understanding.

  4. Verify their background

We rigorously check qualifications and relevant experience, making sure the credentials behind an impressive profile stand up to scrutiny.

  5. Monitor quality and consistency

We follow our tutors’ performance, reliability and teaching quality, with the impact on students’ progress as our central measure.

  6. Stay involved with families

We stay in close contact with IB families and their tutors, helping align expectations, address concerns and keep the right support in place for each student to do their best.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

IB tutoring
in The Hague:
the practical details.

Talk to our team ↗

Can an IB tutor come to our home in The Hague?

Yes. Acady offers one-to-one IB tutoring at home in The Hague (Den Haag). Work with your tutor on the subjects and questions you find challenging, with lessons matched to your course and goals. We discuss a suitable tutor and lesson times before you book.

Do you support IB students at ISH, BSN and ASH?

Yes. Acady has supported students from all three schools. ISH is in The Hague, BSN has senior campuses in Leidschenveen and Voorschoten, and ASH is in Wassenaar. Tell us your programme and subjects so your tutoring follows the qualification you are taking.

Can you help with the move from GCSE to the IB Diploma?

Yes. We can revisit the subject knowledge you bring from GCSE and work on the reasoning, written explanations and independent study expected in your Diploma subjects. Your tutor starts with the work your school has set and the gaps you want to address.

Can we get help with IB Maths AA or AI, at SL or HL?

Yes. Tell us your exact Mathematics course and level so we can find an appropriate tutor. We also support MYP Mathematics. Lessons can focus on understanding concepts, choosing methods, explaining your reasoning or preparing for assessments.

How much does in-person IB tutoring cost?

Our weekly at-home rate is €60 per hour for an expert IB tutor. IB teachers and examiners start from €90 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In-person teacher options are limited. We confirm availability, the applicable rate and trial cost before you book.

Can you help with Internal Assessments, the Extended Essay or TOK?

Yes. Tutoring can help you understand the task, develop subject knowledge and evaluate your approach. Your research, analysis and submitted work remain your own. Share the assignment guidance and your teacher’s feedback so support respects your school’s rules.

Can we arrange lessons after school or at weekends?

Yes, depending on tutor availability. We discuss lesson times that fit around school and your other commitments before arranging a trial.

What if an in-person tutor is not available for our subject?

We can discuss other lesson times or an online tutor. Online lessons widen the pool of subject specialists. You decide whether that option suits your needs before booking.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. The initial consultation with our team is free. The trial is a separate, paid lesson. We explain the tutor match and trial cost before you book, so you can make an informed choice.
